I know its been a while...I am new at this whole blogging thing and I get swamped with stuff at the farm and then I forget to write anything on here!
Here's a quick summary since we last talked:
July and August - Ben and I made hay. Alot of hay. It was our first year making hay and it went pretty well overall. We did round bales and we learned quite a bit. We put up fencing and rotated pastures for the cows, and started pasturing the pigs. We also raised a few turkeys!

September - Ben and I got married!!!. Ben and the cows kept everyone entertained while I was trying to get my veil attached to my hair and navigate my dress while everyone was waiting for me. Please disregard my incredible hay making tan lines. No, my dress was not a halter...
October - I took vacation from work to go work on a potato harvester for a local farmer. Basically after the wedding was over it was off the harvest for me and double time farm work for Ben. We bought a pregnant sow and a boar to add to our rapidly growing hog collection. She had piglets and seems to be a great mother so far.
Now we can re-group and start getting ready for the rapidly approaching winter months! I'm back to work now that harvest is over, and Ben is working on some barn improvements. I'm a little disappointed that I was able to sum up pretty much the whole summer into 7 pictures and 3 small paragraphs. It was a crazy summer and a crazy fall, and the biggest thing I discovered is that I am definitely better at being a farmer and NOT a wedding planner.
