Welcome to MooShine Cattle Co's CSA Plan!
We have changed our CSA structure in an effort to accommodate more people's interests and individual needs by making sure that you are given more choices! Below is an overview of how the whole system works!

If you're wondering what a "CSA Share" is, please click the following button for an overview of our Community Supported Agriculture program
|
Step 1) How much meat do you need?
The beautiful thing about a CSA is the variety that you get with each monthly package. Meat variety each month is based on availability. Our meat is freshly made, which means that our product inventory will change regularly based on butcher appointments and other factors. We are a small farm, so our quantities are limited. This also means that you're getting the freshest that we have, and are able to share in our farm's harvest, which is the very essence of a CSA.
Full ShareOur full share is ideal for a family, or for people passionate about eating meat. The full share is an easy way to feed your family without investing in a stand alone freezer.
Typically a full share will be somewhere in the 20-22 pound range depending on the meat choices you indicate on your shopping list (I will talk about that more later on.) |
Half ShareOur half share is usually used to feed a family of two for a month or so. The half share is our most popular type, and is a conveniently sized portion.
Typically a half share will be somewhere in the 10-12 pounds range depending on the meat choices you indicate on your shopping list (I will talk about that more later on). |
Did you know..... According to the USDA, the average American consumes a little over 16 pounds of meat each month!*

Step 2) How much does it cost?
Pricing is based on how long you sign up for. We have a month to month option allowing you to "try it out" for people new to CSA's, or for people with varying monthly needs, etc. We also have a 6 month plan for people who want to lock in to half a year of fresh local food at a lesser price.
You pay for your share each month when you pick it up. No need to pay up front unless you want to!

Step 3) What meat do I get? (The Shopping List)
This is where our CSA gets really interesting! You can CHOOSE what goes into your share each month! Just like grocery shopping except you're buying tastier, fresher and overall more awesome meat! You are given a set number of points that you can "spend" on whatever you'd like! Our freezer now becomes your freezer. The things that are more "rare" or cost us more to raise and process are going to cost more points. The things that are more common that are less costly for us to raise and process will cost less points. The volume of meat you receive is based of off what cuts you choose (just like shopping. If you have $20 dollars, you can leave with 6 boxes of cereal or 16 boxes of mac n cheese)
Full Share PointsKeep in mind that the points are per package and not per pound.
Full Shares may spend 1000 points |
Half Share PointsKeep in mind that the points are per package and not per pound.
Half Shares may spend 500 points |

At very least, this online version will give you an idea of what our form looks like! |
Additional points may be purchased if you wanted extra stuff.
10 points for $2 more dollars.
These additional points are meant to be used for unique situations where you need to add extra stuff to your share, or can't/don't want to make the points add up nicely to your total. They are not reflective of the price per point you are getting on your CSA share, so if you find you're using them frequently, please consider increasing your share size so you can get a better deal!
